Built for real families
Flexible tools that can fit different homes, routines and reward systems rather than forcing every family into one pattern.
About Hearth & Hero
Hearth & Hero is a small independent studio creating playful, practical apps for children and families. We start with a real problem, keep the experience simple, and try to make the useful part feel fun.
Where it started
ChoreForge began as a tool for our own home. With four children bringing home achievements, doing different chores, building good habits and earning rewards, it became surprisingly easy to lose track of what had already been recognised and what still needed doing.
What started as a practical Home Assistant project grew into ChoreForge: a child friendly way to make responsibilities visible, celebrate effort and help parents keep rewards fair and organised.
How we build
We do not add features just because they are technically possible. A feature should make family life clearer, kinder or easier to manage. If it creates unnecessary pressure, tracking or conflict, we question whether it belongs at all.
Flexible tools that can fit different homes, routines and reward systems rather than forcing every family into one pattern.
Child facing experiences should be encouraging, understandable and designed around the child rather than adult arguments or analytics.
We aim to collect and expose only what a feature genuinely needs, with clear boundaries around children's information.
Good habits are built gradually. Our products are designed to recognise effort and consistency, not demand perfect behaviour.
What we are building
Our apps can look very different, but they share the same goal: use technology to make something difficult in family life a little easier.
A gentle daily check in for children living between two homes.
